Website: www.thermaskirt.com.au

The new EasyClean is a low surface temperature hydronic heating system that has been developed in co-operation with the Estates and Infection control department of the National Health Service in the UK, and several major assisted living and care home providers to create a simple, safe, energy efficient and above all hygienic heating solution for the HealthCare market.

Unlike LST radiators, the EasyClean has no slots or grilles for harmful bacteria such as C. Difficile and MRSA to enter and incubate, and is simply wiped free of infection when mopping the floors. No cases or covers to remove, no special tools or keys, no deep clean teams.

Unlike under-floor heating the EasyClean is fast and responsive to changes in heating demand, ensuring maximum patient comfort and minimal running costs. Being ‘above ground’ the EasyClean is a simple retro-fit to existing systems, and will not lift floorings or develop an undetectable leak. In addition it will not cause the ‘tired leg’ syndrome experience by hard working staff standing on heated floors all day.

The EasyClean LST system uses low flow temperatures from the boiler system. This not only provides a more comfortable environment for the occupant, it also improves energy efficiency.

Website: www.studform.com.au

Studform is a leading manufacturer of many commercial interior building products and are presently supplying 16 hectares of seismic ceiling grid to the New Royal Adelaide Hospital (NRAH); ensuring the hospitals compliance with the AS1170.4.
A critical design criterion for the NRAH was continuity of building service post-disasters. Modern Buildings survive earthquakes structurally, although they are generally evacuated due to hazards created by the failure of non-structural elements. Facilities are rendered useless when they are needed most by debris, unknown substance leaks, unhygienic conditions and an unworkable environment.
Studform, already in the ceiling grid market with Kwikloc, collaborated with seismic experts to develop major product improvements which were rigorously tested in the USA. Within months the Kwikloc Seismic ceiling grid was born and the design far exceeded the NRAH requirements.
The application of the Kwikloc Seismic system also ensures the following benefits in a hospital environment:
• Hygiene Performance – Accurately nested ceiling tile to grid interface ensure an ultimate hygiene outcome.
• Even Plane – All grid sections maintain a flat even plane throughout the system which averts sag pressure commencing with the tiles.
• Kwikloc connection system –connecting quickly together reducing installation times.
• Minimised bracing requirement - allows for minimal bracing up to 81 m2> alleviating congested areas.

Australian Medical Suction Systems

Website: www.beckerpumps.com.au

In recent years advances have been made in the world of vacuum pumps and medical suction.
The two main advances in the manufacture of vacuum pumps are the emergence of oil free pumps using composite vanes and the development of the motor speed control (VFD).
The Becker VFD Medical Suction Systems have many benefits, however the most important being, considerable Long Life cost savings and Reduction in your Carbon Footprint.
The speed control delivers only the flow which is required for each independent pump. As flow demand varies so does the pump speed. All of the pumps can be running as low as 20Hz increasing in speed with demand. The slower running pumps lower power costs and further enhance vane life by up to 40%.  The power is also dramatically reduced as there is no stopping and starting current (normal with high/low level control) and no large receiver needed to cushion vacuum level when pumps are stopped.  This gives the hospital total control ensuring that all pumps are operational.
Apart from an initial capital cost saving the savings over five years in reduced or eliminated service costs can be as high as $8,000.00 add to this a saving in energy, on average, $1,800.00 over five years. This is a significant energy saving and a major reduction in carbon footprint.
The Becker Variable Speed medical suction plant is a very major step forward for medical suction plant and represents a very real reduction in operating costs. The plant is basically a “plug & play” system and being modular is self contained and as such to further reduce the capital cost of installing we offer service and supply contracts for periods of 5 or 10 years. We are able to offer this because of our guaranteed 20,000 hour vane life; a guarantee not available from any other suction pump manufacturer

eConnect Plus

Website: www.econnectplus.com.au

eConnect Plus is a business support service company that has provided Mailroom services to the Health Industry since 2009. This year eConnect Plus will process 10 million letters on behalf of institutions such as: Monash Health, Western Health, Eastern Health, Peninsula Health, St Vincent’s Health, Cabrini Hospital, Alfred Health, Peter Mac Cancer Centre, Epworth Health and the Royal Eye and Ear.
We are market leaders in utilising Multi Line Optical Character Recognition (MLOCR) technology to read the address information from sealed mail, creating a data string and referencing the Australia Post addressing file and finally printing the correct delivery barcode onto each letter.
In response to a growing demand to send and receive information in a digital format, eConnect has leveraged the MLOCR technology to develop a desktop solution that can manage a single or batch file of documents. The solution, which is called CommSafe, has its official launch at this year’s Victorian Health week. Commsafe works in the following ways:
1. It is a Multi-Channel communication and documents delivery system via Print to Mail, Digital Mailbox, Web Portal, Email and extendable to more.
2. Through it’s well managed approach to communications, identity checks connections data to ensure the credentials of your connection to your patient (and other entities) are enforced.  Through the built in management layer all communications and workflows are fully traceable.
3. Commsafe unites Personal and Business orientated views of communications into a single platform.  Users perspective is applied through the Personal and Business sides of the solution.
4. In support of more complex communication fulfilment cycles, CommSafe has a Workflow toolset with standard functions native and is designed-configured to allow more workflows to be readily incorporated to meet expanding requirements.
