Information: Transforming Consumers and Healthcare in Western Sydney
Western Sydney Local Health District has received over $1.5bn in capital funding from the NSW Government for hospital expansions in Blacktown, Mt Druitt and Westmead. In this presentation from Australian Healthcare Week 2017, Danny O’Connor, Chief Executive, Western Sydney Local health District explores the redevelopment of the Westmead precinct which comprises adult, paediatric, tertiary and quaternary services, a cancer center and several internationally recognised research institutions and universities, including:
- Taking the investment opportunity and creating additional value from related industries to help drive fundamental changes in the delivery of healthcare in the future
- Developing strong partnerships between health and education and also with industry partners in both the public and private sectors
- Implementing innovative new technologies in response to new models of care and consumer expectations
